Sun Valley / surgery

We took the mountain-weiler Kota to the Sun Valley Animal Center in Ketchum, Idaho to get her leg fixed. The people there are amazing! Upon x-ray on the day of her surgery, they found that her ACL ligament wasn’t torn after all. The bad news was that it was her hip. Hip surgeries are much more expensive. We had fundraised the $1,900 for the leg surgery but her hip would cost $4,900. We had driven 6hrs and didn’t have the money, things weren’t looking good for Kota.

However, things turned around for Kota. The people @ Sun Valley animal clinic accepted the $1,900 we raised and covered the $2,900 remaining balance with their rescue animal fund. They didn’t need to do this but they did. We are very grateful. I want to say Thank You to Oregon State University graduate Dr. Maggie Acker and everybody @ Sun Valley Animal Center.

If you have never been to Ketchum, Idaho, plan a trip. I called Sun Valley home in 1999-2000. It is the Best mountain town I’ve ever been to. It’s out of the way for sure, but this means that it’s never crowded and the people are only there because they want to be. Nowadays I live in and love Park City, Utah. Here though you have mountains just to the West. In Ketchum, you are surrounded on all sides by mountains. Adventure is literally any direction you go.

There is alot of photography to be had in Ketchum, Idaho. This trip was mostly dominated by Kota’s surgery and surgery delay so we didn’t get out as much as we usually do, but I still managed to get some pretty good shots.
